Tax cuts for Business...
Seems to be the thing to do to restore jobs, or at least that is the impression one would get when following all the government rhetoric these days.
As I said in my last Blog... "If BIG (as in Big Government) wants to do anything then "STOP THE BLEEDING" (loss of business). Maybe start in China". Well maybe I should also add "Mexico".
Let me explain... A month or so ago my refrigerator went bad. It had been several years - guessing 10-15 - that I had it so I was not at all familiar with what was on the market. So out to the store to see what is available.
Narrowed it down to a "Maytag" or "Whirlpool". I noticed that other than the name both looked the same. Sales guy told me that Whirlpool bought Maytag. Hum... guess that is OK. Thought they were made in USA. Ended up getting the "Maytag" as there was a "floor model" at a lower cost. Was a little more than I wanted to spend but thought anyway that this would in some small way be my way to help "stimulate" the economy.
Anyway one of the "feet" on the refrigerator was bad. Repair guy came out to fix it and got to talking to him and he informed me that "Whirlpool" was shutting down a USA plant and moving to MEXICO. This was news to me, so I did a little internet searching and found this...

"An Evansville Whirlpool worker leaves the Evansville Plant after receiving news that Whirlpool will be closing the plant next year, leaving at least 1,100 people unemployed as production moves to Mexico. Whirlpool made the announcement to first shift employees and sent them home for the day. Second and third shift employees were asked not to come in".

Now, back to my original comments of how will tax cuts help restore jobs? Maybe ask some of the 1,100 ex-employees of Whirlpool.
I will say it again... If BIG wants to do anything then "STOP THE BLEEDING".
Now, this is just one example. Go to Wal-Mart and you will see many more (not made in USA).
Look around your house... how many (not made in USA's) do you have. So before BIG can help, when will we help ourselves? It is almost impossible to find made in USA anymore. But is that not the real reason for job cuts. Are we not our worst enemy? We complain about the economy and lost jobs, yet we keep sending our money off to others (China, Mexico, India, NeverNever land, Etc).
To any of the 1,100 ex-Whirlpool employees that might be reading this, I extend my sympathy. I tried - thought I was buying - helping - USA. Hopefully BIG will do a better job than I.
